WAMSS Newsletter - Summer 2025
President's Report
Hello Summer and fellow WAMSS members! I hope that you are all finding some air-conditioned relief during this current heat wave. Summer has always been a time to slow down, enjoy the beauty of nature, soak up some rays, take a much-anticipated vacation, and spend time with friends and family. Unfortunately, as a Medical Staff Professional, summer is our busiest season with new graduates, Residents, and Fellows all wanting to start the day after graduation. While we know that’s not possible, it makes for a lot of good opportunities to educate our leadership on the credentialing process, including what the credentialing process entails and just how long it takes to get a provider credentialed. I encourage you to acknowledge these requests and turn them into educational opportunities. Don’t be afraid to show off the great work that you do!
I’d like to take a moment to announce the appointment of a new WAMSS Board member. Kalyn Safranski has taken over the position of Bylaws Chairperson. The primary role of the Bylaws Chairperson is addressing WAMSS Bylaws and Policy updates, monitor Bylaws and Policy changes initiated by NAMSS for impact on WAMSS, and update a yearly review of all changes made at the Annual Business Meeting during the conference each year. Interested in brushing up on the WAMSS Bylaws and Policies and Procedures? Click on this link to review them anytime: Bylaws and Policies. Congratulations Kalyn! We are so lucky to have you on the WAMSS Board and know you will do great things in the future!!

Closing Thoughts
I’d like to end my summer newsletter with some closing quotes to consider on the importance of continual growth as an MSP leader:
· * Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning. – Benjamin Franklin
· * Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently. – Henry Ford
· * Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death. – Albert Einstein
Is there something that you would like to see added to our quarterly newsletter? Have you learned something new over the past few months in your Medical Staff Professional or Provider Enrollment role? Our membership would love to learn from you! Articles can be 2-3 paragraphs long and would be a great addition to the newsletter. Please submit your article to me via email at [email protected].
Yours in humble service,
Maggie Fuchs, CPMSM, CPCS
