WAMSS Newsletter - Spring 2025 Print

President's Report

Happy Spring!  This is my first newsletter as your new WAMSS President.  I just want to say how humbled and honored I am to represent Wisconsin’s Medical Staff Professionals over the next two years.  We have been very fortunate to have had many amazing WAMSS Presidents in the past and I know that I have big shoes to fill.  I will be working with my fellow Board members over the coming months to develop a strategic plan for WAMSS in 2025.  I will share more details about this plan once it is finalized.  I also encourage each of you to share your feedback with me on any other ways that we can improve WAMSS in the future!

I’d like to take a moment to announce the appointment of two new WAMSS Board members.  Mandy Schultz will be taking over the position of Library Chairperson.  The primary role of the Library Chairperson is to monitor the WAMSS Library email, review requests for materials, purchase materials, and send out new material notices to membership.  Interested in checking out some of our library resources?  Click on this link to review and request our WAMSS library materials: Resource Library.  Stacy Klish will be taking over the position of Program Chair.  The primary role of the Program Chairperson is to coordinate our yearly WAMSS Conference and lead our Conference Planning Committee in the preparation and implementation of the conference.  Stacy and the Conference Planning Committee will be working closely with our IAMSS counterparts to continue preparations for our Midwest Super Conference in May.  Interested in knowing more about our upcoming conference?  Click on this link to learn more about conference information and registration:  Conference Information.  Congratulations, Mandy and Stacy!  We are so lucky to have you on the WAMSS Board and know you will do great things in the future!!

Is there something that you would like to see added to our quarterly newsletter?  Have you learned something new over the past few months in your Medical Staff Professional or Provider Enrollment role?  Our membership would love to learn from you!  Articles can be 2-3 paragraphs long and would be a great addition to the newsletter.  Please submit your article to me via email at [email protected].

Closing Thoughts

I’d like to end my first newsletter with some closing quotes to consider during these challenging times:

  • Excellence is never an accident.  It is the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives – choice, not chance, determines your destiny - Aristotle
  • Don’t let fear paralyze you.  The scariest paths often lead to the most exciting places – Lori Deschene
  • A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way – John C. Maxwell

Yours in humble service,

Maggie Fuchs, CPMSM, CPCS
